Banksy ‘Cardinal Sin’ Sculpture at Walker Art Gallery

Banksy 'Cardinal Sin' Sculpture at Walker Art Gallery

Banksy’s on his grizzly right now – here’s his latest offereing which is displayed @ The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, ENG.

The piece, made in response to the child abuse scandals that the church seems to be known for these days, features a face taken off and replaced by blank bathroom tiles. Banksy noted in a statement, “:I’m never sure who deserves to be put on a pedestal or crushed under one.” The sculpture sits next to religious works dated from the 17th Century.

Banksy Returns to London - Lifestyle Out Of Stock

Banksy stepping out of the box from his typical work, drops a new piece in London’s historic residential district – think for the most part this slogan reins true to many people – I still wanna be a rapper though!

JR “Wall & Paper” @ The M Building in Miami

JR “Wall & Paper” @ The M Building in Miami

JR is definitely outshining most modern ‘celebrity’ street artists ( I won’t name any names) right now, and he continues his tear  of fusion between politics and graffiti by displaying his latest piece on the wall of the M Building in Miami, FLA. JR has had an incredible year, travelling the world and producing art in the most unsuspecting and controversial places he can possibly find, which is reflective of his mission to ‘change the world’ – and to top it all off he has recently been recognized by winning the TED award, for which he received a $100,000 grand prize.

Harmony Korine for Supreme Skateboard Decks

Harmony Korine for Supreme Skateboard Decks

Supreme brings us another artist collabo of skate decks, this time featuring the multi-talented writer, director, artist and film maker Harmony Korine – 2 of the decks will feature original artwork from Korine and all will be available on Oct. 6th in their NYC, LA, and London chapter stores as well as online, and on October 8th they’ll drop in Japan.

Harmony Korine is a Writer, Director, Filmmaker, and Artist whose work all has a distinct point of view that often highlights youth culture, dysfunctionality, mental disorders, poverty and other social ills. Korine wrote the groundbreaking film Kids, as a teenager living in New York. Among other things Kids depicted the skate scene in New York in the early 90’s, and featured many famed NY skaters including Harold Hunter and Justin Pierce. Korine also wrote and directed Gummo, which caused controversy for its violence and unintelligible style, but won him honors and top prizes at the Venice film festival.

Outside of his film making, Korine is a published author, artist and music video director who has worked with Christopher Wool, Sonic Youth, Cat Power, and Bjork among others

Drake – Take Care (Artwork)

Feels like it’s been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24…I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

See you soon.
Drake

Video: JR “INSIDE OUT” Project and Webisode #1

French artist JR is noticeably different from the rest of his exclusive clan of world-famous, street-painting, silk-screening colleagues. In lieu of focusing solely on gallery shows or commercializing his brand, JR has dedicated his newfound fame and respect to continue his socially-conscious work on a global scale. Hinted at during his TED Talk earlier this year, JR’s newest project, entitled “INSIDE OUT,” involves his trademark street-postings of portraiture on a level unlike anything ever done before. Aimed at involving communities all over the world in an art project, both the trailer for and the first webisode of INSIDE OUT are available for viewing now.
