CEASEFIRE IN GAZA!

Killing only begets more killing.
Tip took the stand earlier this morning at the Hamilton County Court in Cincinnati as a witness for the prosecution in the murder trial of Hosea Thomas, the man accused of shooting his childhood friend Philant Johnson to death in May of 2006. He told the court that he felt like the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him and he described what happened inside the van he was riding in during the shootout between Thomas and his camp.
T.I. says he took cover in a van when it was struck by bullets during the chase. He described seeing his friend after their van pulled over. He said Johnson was lying lifeless, blood running down his face from a shot into his left temple.
Padron Thomas, 40, told officials he was driving the Jeep as his brother, Hosea, fired the shots at the vans. At least one member of T.I.’s crew returned fire.
In exchange for Padron Thomas’ testimony against his brother, prosecutors have agreed to drop murder charges against him, allow him to plead guilty to manslaughter and have any sentence he receives in the case to run at the same time as a federal prison sentence.

And though it seems heaven sent we ain’t ready to have a black President…
It’s a wrap folks! The new President elect is Barack Obama, thank facking God. And let’s face it, ASIDE from the promise behind his policy, or the fact that he’s intelligently on par with anyone elected previous to him, ya gotta admit, this dood will mos DEFINATELY be the coolest mafuckin President the USA has ever seen!!
On the real though that was a powerful acceptance speech, made me choke up a bit. And as cliche as it is to sounds, there was evidently a clear aura of hope felt amongst the 1 million spectators at Grant Park in Chicago, the sense that a revolutionary era in American political leadership had finally sounded off.
And on the other side of the spectrum Mccain’s speech after he conceded defeat was pretty classy too as he commended Mr.Obama on a tremendous victory, while calming the boos from the Republican crowd at the mention of the new President’s name. As far as Republican candidates go, I felt as though he was as good as it gets; The man gave as much as you can give to a country without losing your life during his service with the military and his experience in office as a tenacious Senator was undeniable. Unfourtunately for John Mccain he was up against a powehouse in the electorate Barack Obama and his running mate Joe Bidden; but not only that, he had to run against his Republican predecessor George W. Bush the worst President in US history by far. And moreover, he was up against his own running mate Sarah Palin who clearly took the short bus to school as a child, and was an evident hindrance on his campaign down the stretch. So in the end, with all those factors standing against them, it’s as though he never really stood a chance.
Regardless, the best man won, and in a time where the next President must step into the biggest shoes any President before him has ever had to fill, I’m glad the United States’ new Commander in Chief has such great promise and potential to be one of the most influential Political figures our generation has ever seen.
For the rest of our lives, we’ll all remember where we were the day Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States of America.
YES WE CAN WILL!!
The internet raises awareness to lunacy everywhere once again….
DJ AM was back on the decks for the first time since surviving a fiery plane crash. Adam joined Jay-Z at a special concert celebrating the reopening of the legendary Hollywood Palladium”

Self-proclaimed “boss”, Miami rapper Rick Ross has admitted he once held down a gig as a correctional officer. After being questioned numerous times, and adamantly denying it, many were still convinced otherwise. Well it turns out that those who DID think it was true…were right.
Ross sat down with a magazine recently and explained himself. He was shown a picture of the CO photo and was asked, point blank, if that was him or not.
“Yes. It’s me.” He also added, “I never tried to hide my past. I put my name inside my cds. My company has my SS#. I could’ve put a company name… I done been up and I done been down and that’s what makes me what I am. I never ratted on a nigga. I never prosecuted a nigga. I never locked up a nigga, that’s first
and foremost. I always felt that me being the nigga that I am, I never owed a nigga an explanation… When I’m making my music and I’m talking about blow, it’s because I did it. When I say that I’m rich off cocaine, it’s because i did it. Those are the street principals that apply.”

CLEVELAND (AP) — Run-D.M.C. could “Walk This Way” into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The 1980s rap act, along with Metallica and the Stooges are among the nine nominees for next year’s hall of fame class, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced Monday.
The other nominees are guitarist Jeff Beck, singer Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War, Bobby Womack, and disco and R&B group Chic, the only nominee back from last year’s ballot.
The five leading vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted April 4, 2009, in Cleveland.
The ceremony typically has been held in New York but is returning to Cleveland after more than a decade-long absence. Tickets will be made available to the public for the first time.
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five opened the door for rap at the Rock Hall as the first hip-hop act to be inducted in 2007. Now, Run-D.M.C., nominated in the first year of its eligibility, has the chance to follow on the strength of rock and rap blends such as the 1986 cover of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” and classics like “It’s Tricky” and “My Adidas.”

Kanye West has been busy working on his new album, 808’s and Heartbreak for some time now. He’s revealed that his album is set to be released before year’s end and he has even released the first single, “Love Lockdown” [click to listen]. Now, he’s blogging about this and the alleged release date showdown that he may re create with 50 Cent.
“I just woke up from a quick studio nap,” he wrote in his blog this week. “I’ve been workin’ on 808s and Heartbreak about 16 hours a day and [I] passed out for a little bit … I’m in Hawaii but I’m still on New York time so I wake up mad early, do some business, blog, jog for an hour, play ball, eat and then hit the stu [sic] by noon. While approving the final cut for the ‘Love Lockdown’ vid, I marvel at the fact that it was written less than three weeks ago.”
Later, Kanye added that he’s excited about his album coming together and he even sent a shout out to Fif after he did a lip synch mocking Kanye’s new joint Love Lockdown @ a recent live show [Re: video below].
“I’m very excited about the everything … I guarantee this will be 50’s favorite album of mine. This will be gangster’s album of the year.”
As it stands, the West and cent albums are not scheduled to be released on the same date. Instead, they are currently a week apart, but that could easily change. If the two emcees chose to battle it out on the same release date, it could be done soon.
