Eminem Speaks

http://www.thehollywoodnews.com/artman2/uploads/1/eminem-new-album.jpg

Me and Dre are back in the lab like the old days, man,Eminem says. “Just him banging away on tracks and me getting that little spark that makes me write to it. I don’t have chemistry like that with anyone else as far as producers go — not even close. Dre will end up producing the majority of the tracks on Relapse.’We are up to our old mischievous ways … let’s just leave it at that.”

Em also spoke on the leaked track Number 1 which left him “really heated. It wasn’t close to finished, and it even has me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down. It’s like someone catches you peeping in your window before you got the Spider-Man costume all zipped up! Nobody is supposed to see that. We are gonna finish it up though and get it out there how it’s supposed to be.”

And finally Slim debunked Swizz Beats’ claims that he’d made a sequel to the rapper’s 2000 hit “Stan.” for the upcoming project: “There isn’t a ‘Stan 2,’ and there won’t be. Stan drove his car off a bridge and I’m not writing a song as Stan’s ghost. That would just be really corny.”

MUSIC MANIFESTO

revolution_fist.jpg

THIS HAS BEEN FLOATING AROUND A MINUTE. INTERESTING READ. DEF. TRUE. WE DON’T NEED LABELS ANYMORE. FUCK EM! I’M GETTING TIRED OF DEFENDING HIP-HOP IN THE STATE ITS IN… I GUESS IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT YOU HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF.

“lights out !” : an open letter to the record industry & the idiots who work for the fascist regime .
read this out loud !

this is intended for all of you lowly puppets who sit in your big offices in big buildings that will soon be out of business & thus, forced to hold vacant memories of an industry that once was . this is for all of the big wigs in suits & ties who sit at the head of the conference room table with creative opinions as empty as the “music” they force down the throats of the now bored & uninspired creative consumers . this is for all the idle assistants who only work hard enough to get their names on the grammy party lists, or whose only existence remains obsolete if he/she can’t get into the hot new band’s hollywood show debut . this is for the borderline retarded a&r guy who should in fact abandon his dreams of changing the failing record industry to become a highly paid talent scout at a modeling agency . this is definitely for all the marketing low lives who fail to avidly push great talent because the world’s fave reality slut randomly decided one day while botoxing her armpits that she wants to be a rockstar .

ON THE COMEUP 08: 10 Questions with Dave Ghetto

ghett.jpg

As many Dave Ghetto interviews tend to, we could focus on the reputation of Ghetto’s Camden NJ hometown (One of the most dangerous places on the planet), but there is much more depth to Ghetto’s music than the typical hood image that often overshadows the real issues present in music today.

Although no new-comer to the rap game, Dave Ghetto has most recently garnered attention with the release of his debut solo disc, Love Life? A mature and boundless production, Love Life? leaves one with much to marinate on. Ghetto’s vivid stories and representations of real life come with positive & candid perspectives. His gift is clearly to teach without coming off as preachy… to rap with great skill and eloquence while maintaining an effortless prowess on the mic… and to pick those soul soaked beats to create the right sonic canvas for his paintings. If your looking for good old beats and rhymes, with a little medicine added…. look no further. Here are our 10 questions with Dave Ghetto:

Chuck D’s Plan for Def Jam

http://www.abc.net.au/arts/music/stories/img/chuck-02.jpg

1) Being ahead of the technology curve; preparing for a thinned out industry; and managing budget efficient acts is very noteworthy of my resume which is simple. I told these cats the online revolution was coming and they needed big adjustments. They relied on lawyers, courts, and accountants only to now look upward at Apple, etc.

2) Their cost factors didn’t fit the times, I come from a world where the $50,000 investments resulted into 6 - 7 figures. Now it’s a business where 7 figures are invested to make 6.

3) I would run it like sports. These artists would be busting their tails on tour and on the stage to gain a fan. They would be coached on how to do their thing right. Braintrust will be high, and subcontracting to the right contributors will be comparable of the efficiency of these labels like Jazz and catalog departments. You cannot have people working, that haven’t the slightest clue of what they are in the middle of.

4) Any criminal mindedness in artistry, and management would have sit this one out, go their own way. It’s like bad apples the long run ain’t got nothing to do with entertainment. You can’t mix the stage and off stage parodies.

Sounds like someones talking some sense.

F**k Lil Wayne!! by HHDX’s Charlamagne Tha God

14860386mtorimar924200795441pm.jpg“If you are talking about rap and beef, I’m the wrong person to talk to.  I am from New Orleans.  Cut your televisions on. You know where I’m from.  I’m from the murder capital, ma.  Beef is a different thing there.  I have four teardrops on my face and I have to look my mom in her eye every day.  I can’t lie to her.  Fuck what they think and fuck what the world thinks, we real.  My mom is real.  The first day I got a teardrop I lied.  I called her and asked her can I get a teardrop tattoo, but I had already got it.”  She said, “When you get it, come by me so I can see how you look with it, cause I was thinking about getting one my fuckin’ self.”  “We don’t play.  No, I’m not gonna rap about you man, I will murder you, your family, your child, a newborn, I don’t give a fuck.  I could never go to hell cause I’ma take over, bitch.”

This ladies and ghetto men is one of the most socially irresponsible things I have ever heard spoken by a public figure in my life.  To keep it one hundred, this fake blood, want-a-be gangster, scream murder but I don’t believe you, pill popping piece of pig shit has lost his muthafucking mind.  Please tell him to back away from that triple stack of Styrofoam cups he walks around with.  This young man that is contributing to the degradation of our culture has had to much Hawaiian Punch and Promethezyne.

TIME FOR PARENTS TO WAKE UP AND FACE RESPONSIBILITY

parents.jpg

I been getting more and more steamed lately at the slanted and manipulative works of News networks like FOX, CNN and others and their misleading and bogus coverage of Hip-hop culture as of late and I think yall old fucks need a reminder of something. IT IS NOT HIP-HOP ARTISTS (or any other artists) RESPONSIBILITY TO RAISE YOUR KIDS, AND IF YOUR LETTING THEM DO SO YOUR TO FUCKING BLAME. Hip-hop is a raw reflection of the streets. If you wouldn’t let your precious child go wandering into drug spots in the Bronx or Compton or Decatur late at night then you shouldn’t be exposing them to people professing from these street corners. There are labels on ALL of these releases that have been so slandered lately reminding you they are only for kids over 18. Kids intelligent enough to make the distinction between art and real life. Furthermore, whether they can or not, its STILL not the artists responsibility. Artists only responsiblity is honesty, truth, and to fight against censorshit. Say what you want. Thats life. Artists have been doing it forever.

The outrage should be with the plumetting test score’s of America children, the lack of responsible parenting, the lack of responsible advertising, the lack of proper social systems to uplift the down-trodden poor American classes who slide further and further below the poverty line. There should be outrage at the racism, predjuidice and ignorance we are seeing displayed in the many instances around the States lately (Jena 6). There should be outrage that public and prominent news networks can feature such unbalanced and hideously slanted reporting as they have on the clip below. People need to wake up and realize these are all fundamental human rights issues which the Government is trying to scapegoat by blaming everything on hip-hop. They need to face up to the responsiblities the Government SHOULD be looking at. How to get rid of the crazy gun culture, how to higher education standards (couldn’t be more important), restoring peoples faith in public institutions, ETC. And may I remind you, this is a Government, a country, who has for years, plundered the World exploiting resources (human and material) without the slightest regard for human rights or the legacy that would leave behind. This is a Government who is largely funded itself by the biggest arms manufacturer (Lockheed Martin) in the world. A company who has funded both sides of every major War you can think of and has created mass bloodshed across the globe. This is a country built on the backs of the exploited due to a disgusting administration who couldn’t really give a fuck about the people… Who the fuck are they to point the finger?

SO… here is the bottom line of my off topic and drawn out rant: IF YOUR KID GOES AND SHOOTS SOMEONE, YOU ARE TO BLAME. IF YOUR KID GOES OUT AND ROBS A STORE, YOU ARE TO BLAME. IF YOUR FUCKING KID DOES ANYTHING WRONG, YOU AS A PARENT HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG. PARENTS PARENTS PARENTS, WAKE THE FUCK UP. AND IF YOUR A POLITICIAN, QUIT WAVING YOUR FINGERS AT OTHER PEOPLE AND TAKE A SERIOUS AND DEEP LOOK AT THE ROOTS OF YOUR POLITICAL PARTIES, THE HISTORY OF YOUR GOVERNMENT AND QUIT TRYING TO BLAME SHIT ON ARTISTS.
