“Me and Dre are back in the lab like the old days, man,” Eminem says. “Just him banging away on tracks and me getting that little spark that makes me write to it. I don’t have chemistry like that with anyone else as far as producers go — not even close. Dre will end up producing the majority of the tracks on Relapse.’We are up to our old mischievous ways … let’s just leave it at that.”
Em also spoke on the leaked track Number 1 which left him “really heated. It wasn’t close to finished, and it even has me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down. It’s like someone catches you peeping in your window before you got the Spider-Man costume all zipped up! Nobody is supposed to see that. We are gonna finish it up though and get it out there how it’s supposed to be.”
And finally Slim debunked Swizz Beats’ claims that he’d made a sequel to the rapper’s 2000 hit “Stan.” for the upcoming project: “There isn’t a ‘Stan 2,’ and there won’t be. Stan drove his car off a bridge and I’m not writing a song as Stan’s ghost. That would just be really corny.”

THIS HAS BEEN FLOATING AROUND A MINUTE. INTERESTING READ. DEF. TRUE. WE DON’T NEED LABELS ANYMORE. FUCK EM! I’M GETTING TIRED OF DEFENDING HIP-HOP IN THE STATE ITS IN… I GUESS IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT YOU HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF.
“lights out !” : an open letter to the record industry & the idiots who work for the fascist regime .
read this out loud !
this is intended for all of you lowly puppets who sit in your big offices in big buildings that will soon be out of business & thus, forced to hold vacant memories of an industry that once was . this is for all of the big wigs in suits & ties who sit at the head of the conference room table with creative opinions as empty as the “music” they force down the throats of the now bored & uninspired creative consumers . this is for all the idle assistants who only work hard enough to get their names on the grammy party lists, or whose only existence remains obsolete if he/she can’t get into the hot new band’s hollywood show debut . this is for the borderline retarded a&r guy who should in fact abandon his dreams of changing the failing record industry to become a highly paid talent scout at a modeling agency . this is definitely for all the marketing low lives who fail to avidly push great talent because the world’s fave reality slut randomly decided one day while botoxing her armpits that she wants to be a rockstar .

1) Being ahead of the technology curve; preparing for a thinned out industry; and managing budget efficient acts is very noteworthy of my resume which is simple. I told these cats the online revolution was coming and they needed big adjustments. They relied on lawyers, courts, and accountants only to now look upward at Apple, etc.
2) Their cost factors didn’t fit the times, I come from a world where the $50,000 investments resulted into 6 - 7 figures. Now it’s a business where 7 figures are invested to make 6.
3) I would run it like sports. These artists would be busting their tails on tour and on the stage to gain a fan. They would be coached on how to do their thing right. Braintrust will be high, and subcontracting to the right contributors will be comparable of the efficiency of these labels like Jazz and catalog departments. You cannot have people working, that haven’t the slightest clue of what they are in the middle of.
4) Any criminal mindedness in artistry, and management would have sit this one out, go their own way. It’s like bad apples the long run ain’t got nothing to do with entertainment. You can’t mix the stage and off stage parodies.
Sounds like someones talking some sense.

“If you are talking about rap and beef, I’m the wrong person to talk to. I am from New Orleans. Cut your televisions on. You know where I’m from. I’m from the murder capital, ma. Beef is a different thing there. I have four teardrops on my face and I have to look my mom in her eye every day. I can’t lie to her. Fuck what they think and fuck what the world thinks, we real. My mom is real. The first day I got a teardrop I lied. I called her and asked her can I get a teardrop tattoo, but I had already got it.” She said, “When you get it, come by me so I can see how you look with it, cause I was thinking about getting one my fuckin’ self.” “We don’t play. No, I’m not gonna rap about you man, I will murder you, your family, your child, a newborn, I don’t give a fuck. I could never go to hell cause I’ma take over, bitch.”

This ladies and ghetto men is one of the most socially irresponsible things I have ever heard spoken by a public figure in my life. To keep it one hundred, this fake blood, want-a-be gangster, scream murder but I don’t believe you, pill popping piece of pig shit has lost his muthafucking mind. Please tell him to back away from that triple stack of Styrofoam cups he walks around with. This young man that is contributing to the degradation of our culture has had to much Hawaiian Punch and Promethezyne.

I been getting more and more steamed lately at the slanted and manipulative works of News networks like FOX, CNN and others and their misleading and bogus coverage of Hip-hop culture as of late and I think yall old fucks need a reminder of something. IT IS NOT HIP-HOP ARTISTS (or any other artists) RESPONSIBILITY TO RAISE YOUR KIDS, AND IF YOUR LETTING THEM DO SO YOUR TO FUCKING BLAME. Hip-hop is a raw reflection of the streets. If you wouldn’t let your precious child go wandering into drug spots in the Bronx or Compton or Decatur late at night then you shouldn’t be exposing them to people professing from these street corners. There are labels on ALL of these releases that have been so slandered lately reminding you they are only for kids over 18. Kids intelligent enough to make the distinction between art and real life. Furthermore, whether they can or not, its STILL not the artists responsibility. Artists only responsiblity is honesty, truth, and to fight against censorshit. Say what you want. Thats life. Artists have been doing it forever.
The outrage should be with the plumetting test score’s of America children, the lack of responsible parenting, the lack of responsible advertising, the lack of proper social systems to uplift the down-trodden poor American classes who slide further and further below the poverty line. There should be outrage at the racism, predjuidice and ignorance we are seeing displayed in the many instances around the States lately (Jena 6). There should be outrage that public and prominent news networks can feature such unbalanced and hideously slanted reporting as they have on the clip below. People need to wake up and realize these are all fundamental human rights issues which the Government is trying to scapegoat by blaming everything on hip-hop. They need to face up to the responsiblities the Government SHOULD be looking at. How to get rid of the crazy gun culture, how to higher education standards (couldn’t be more important), restoring peoples faith in public institutions, ETC. And may I remind you, this is a Government, a country, who has for years, plundered the World exploiting resources (human and material) without the slightest regard for human rights or the legacy that would leave behind. This is a Government who is largely funded itself by the biggest arms manufacturer (Lockheed Martin) in the world. A company who has funded both sides of every major War you can think of and has created mass bloodshed across the globe. This is a country built on the backs of the exploited due to a disgusting administration who couldn’t really give a fuck about the people… Who the fuck are they to point the finger?
SO… here is the bottom line of my off topic and drawn out rant: IF YOUR KID GOES AND SHOOTS SOMEONE, YOU ARE TO BLAME. IF YOUR KID GOES OUT AND ROBS A STORE, YOU ARE TO BLAME. IF YOUR FUCKING KID DOES ANYTHING WRONG, YOU AS A PARENT HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG. PARENTS PARENTS PARENTS, WAKE THE FUCK UP. AND IF YOUR A POLITICIAN, QUIT WAVING YOUR FINGERS AT OTHER PEOPLE AND TAKE A SERIOUS AND DEEP LOOK AT THE ROOTS OF YOUR POLITICAL PARTIES, THE HISTORY OF YOUR GOVERNMENT AND QUIT TRYING TO BLAME SHIT ON ARTISTS.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 — Jay-Z, the rap superstar and president of Def Jam Records, has quietly returned to the studio to record an album of new songs inspired by the forthcoming movie “American Gangster,” his first “concept” album and second CD in less than a year. The album, which his label plans to release in early November, came together over the past few weeks after Jay-Z was shown the film, directed by Ridley Scott, in which Denzel Washington portrays Frank Lucas, a early 1970s Harlem heroin kingpin.

Though this has long been the exception it seems the tides are finally turning. The early reports are in! The word from HitsDailyDouble reports Kanye to have sold a whopping 930k units, while 50 is in at 660k. We’ll have to wait for the official Billboard numbers but its safe to say Kanye won first week sales. Neither CD met my full expectation but I’ve been told I’m a music snob so fuck everyone. The Kanye has some shit thats come into my heavy rotation. Both had some bangers, Kanye more so, and both had some bricks, Kanye less. 50 definately went for the black and white approach. The tracks were either bumpy knuckles hard or robin thicke soft. Either way its a big day for hip-hop and a sign that, contrary to naysayers, the culture is far from dead.
Anyways I hope this is a lesson to all you aspiring musicians. Don’t let the business catch you up. Kanye won becuase of his passion for the music. Passion for art. 50 came up short because everyone got sick of hearing him talk about singles, rotation, sales, spins, business and everything but the music. Its evident that he spent too much time talking up figures, sales projections, marketing schemes and not enough time focusing on the music. Thats the todays lesson (here I am perpetuating things by posting record sales… grimace). Which further makes me think… when I was a listening to hip-hop as a kid I had no idea how many units the artists were selling and I didn’t give a fuck either. Don’t let the sales convince you somethings hot because only your ears can tell you. Otherwise we are just letting the machine tell us what too like. K, nuff preaching….

Nas recently did an interview with MTV and had some more slick rebuttles to the fat heads cave mumblings:
MTV News: Bill O’Reilly has leveled a lot of criticism at you over the Virginia Tech concert [which went off without major incident]. Would you ever go on his show to talk about your music?
Nas: Whenever he wants a debate, I’ll go through it. I know Bill O’Reilly’s test scores. I know what he did, what he’s trying to be … I’m a psycho. I’m an American psycho. [Addressing O'Reilly:] “Come to Queensbridge, [record your show] out there. Come to Jamaica, Queens [New York]. Do a show in Red Hook [Brooklyn, New York].” … I ain’t got no time to talk to a uncivilized savage. This man will go through all kinds of extremes for publicity. I will tell him I’m an American psycho, I’m his worst nightmare. “They Shootin’ ” is just the beginning.
I don’t downplay nothing, that’s who I am. When he wants to come holla at me, be ready for Hannibal Lecter. He don’t deserve an intelligent explanation. I’ll bite his nose off! He wants to talk to me like a animal? I will be — but only to him. With everybody else I’ll be a gentleman, including his wife. That’s right — I’m crazy. That’s how we should be to him. He isn’t here to help us, and we don’t need his help.
If Arnold Schwarzenegger comes to VA Tech, he’s gonna come dressed like the Terminator? [O'Reilly] would never say that about Arnold Schwarzenegger. But he’ll say that to me because he’s ignorant.
MTV News: What about this whole new controversy around the word “n—a”? They recently kicked Eddie Griffin off the stage at a Black Enterprise magazine event because they said he offended the onlookers with his use of profanity and the word “n—a.”
Nas: I mean, it’s a human problem. It’s reality. There’s so many prejudiced people in the world. What you gonna do, Sha? You know what it is. It’s an ugliness. Racism is ugly. Our people are faced with a serious dilemma, what do we do? You got conservative, rich black folks that are above the word “n—a.” Rightfully so. Then you got the word n—a, which has the genius of the black mind and has been changed into a billion-dollar word through Richard Pryor, who should own it. Paul Mooney should own the word. N.W.A, Dr. Dre, should own a piece of the word. “N—a” has changed into a billion-dollar franchise. It’s just a smack in the face to all the races that we’ve changed that into a positive. You’re gonna have brothers and sisters who are educated who don’t need it. You also have a world who lives in it, who deals with it every day on levels that are unbearable.

Anyone catch the Music Video Awards? Pretty dismale huh? Yeeaaa….. After Britney’s akward, tuckin in her belly in as much as she could, pathetic attempt at lip synching, slow motion train-wreck waddle around the dancefloor, the night just couldn’t seem to get any momentum going. Lip synching from Chris Brown was saved only by his incredible dancing but the whole routine really begged the question: when are we going to get over Micheal Jackson and see some new original performances and artists?
Performances from 50 and Kanye were good and Cee Lo’s rock mashup was straight hilarious (That dude can fuckin belt em out straight from that big ol’ belly). Probably the only real performance highlight was Alicia Keys who went in on her performance and finished with a dope rendition, WHICH SHE ACTUALLY SANG!!! (what a concept), of an old Stevie song (I think).
Lil Wayne’s mashed up performance featuring some over emotional, depressed looking whalers didn’t quite hit the right note for me. Too much of that makeup faced emo rock in general. I felt that the method of splitting the performances into different rooms hurt the overall feel of the show. I was expecting those big single stage massive performances and the show seemed to really lack any of that real explosive power. Instead we got plenty of what the music industry has become: fakeness, lip synching, smoke and mirrors, poor dancing and idiotic celebrities trying desperatly to make out whats on their que cards…. Heres some pics:

WTF???

Specially not now..
Yeah, guys, you heard it loud and clear. Even though Universal Music did not renew their agreement with iTunes, in no way, shape, or form are they pulling their music library out of iTunes. From what we’ve been told they wanted a better split, and Apple refused to budge. All this means is that they are free to explore more “options”, but totally pulling music? They’re stupid and out of it, but not that stupid. Leave it up to the 60 year old suits to understand the latest technology and consumer interest, right? Because what we’re about to tell you next makes perfect sense…Universal Music Group and the major labels are about to begin rolling out something called a “RINGLE.” You know, like a single? Except this will be 3 songs packaged together with a ringtone and wallpaper image for your cell phone. The truly idiotic part? These will be physical shipped goods that will be stocked in retailers across the country. Wal-Mart and Best Buy have already jumped on board to start carrying RINGLES. If you break down the cost of 3 songs on iTunes, a typical ringtone, and wallpaper, you get around $6.00. RINGLES will sell in stores for $5.98, but will most likely be on sale and discounted to around $4.00-$4.50. While this is a little bit lower than the traditional digital copies, we still haven’t been told how the consumer will actually be able to transfer the ringtones and wallpapers to their handset. If they’re using some sort of short-code and not bypassing a carrier, then this could be one of the stupidest things we’ve seen. Nevermind the fact they’re going ass-backwards and reverting from a digital product to a physical product that must be printed, packaged, shipped, and stocked. Please, Steve Jobs. Please help us. So…are you guys going to run out to your local retailer and shell out $5.98 for a RINGLE, or just buy the one song you really like on iTunes for $.99 and make your own ringtones?
Well guys.. my impending retirement date just got moved up a bit.
I’m surrrounded by… iddddiottts. *pinky to the lip*
Anyone hiring? (Besides UPS)
EDIT: Send your best Ringle Ads (see above) and the winner will get something.. say.. hmmmmm Let me look around in back of me.. ok.. a fresh pair of Skullcandy Headphones. Thanks to the folks at… Skullcandy. I have the 3 extra Firewire hubs apple sent me by accident when i ordered my Mac Mini 2 years ago… but I don’t think anyone needs one.. i mean if you do.. i duno. go buy one. At least you can use the headphones to listen to your Ringles. Be sure to include your email address.

The God’s Son recently spoke with MTV about O’Reilly’s recent bashing over the Virginia Tech show. Brilliant statement. Nas is the fuckin man:
“The people he represents are Republican, older, a generation that has nothing to do with the reality of what’s happening now with my generation. … He’s not really on my radar. People like him are supposed to be taught and people like me are supposed to let n—as like him know. I don’t take him serious. His sh– is all about getting ratings or whatever. I wouldn’t honor anything Bill O’Reilly has to say. It just shows you what bloodsuckers do: They abuse something like the Virginia Tech [tragedy] for show ratings. You can’t talk to a person like that.”
